About the Host Committee
The Minneapolis Saint Paul 2008 Host Committee is charged with promoting the commerce, image and prestige of Minneapolis, Saint Paul and the entire region in preparation for the 2008 Republican National Convention. The Host Committee is made up of community leaders who are committed to educating people and businesses to come to Minnesota to work, live, play, visit and invest.
Our Purpose and Background
- The Host Committee's purpose is to promote Minneapolis, Saint Paul, Bloomington and the entire state.
- The Host Committee is comprised of a bipartisan group of people from across the cities, including civic leaders, philanthropists, activists and business leaders.
- This convention provides an opportunity for Minnesota to shine in the world spotlight for four days.
- A successful convention will lead to more major events hosted within the Twin Cities, as well as highlight the Twin Cities as a prime location for operating businesses.
- The economic impact is expected to be between $150 – $250 million dollars for the area.
- The Host Committee is a 501c3 organization and contributions are tax deductible.
